Programs

Fleetwood Youth Soccer Club views a "soccer season" as starting in the Fall and continuing on through the Spring of the following year.  The completion of the Spring season, completes a full "soccer season".  Each Fall and Spring season will have separate registrations.

Players are separated into age groups by their birth year as governed by EPYSA and RBJSL.  Players are permitted to "play up" to older age groups but cannot "play down" to younger age groups.

Fleetwood Youth Soccer Club offers the following programs for our players:

Academy (U6 - U8)

Travel (U9 and up)

Academy

Our youngest players are a part of the FYSC Academy program. This co-ed program is designed to focus on individual skill development in an environment which fosters an enjoyment of the game. Players are broken out into teams so that the coach to player ratio is optimized. Training sessions are typically twice a week during the evenings and last approximately one hour. Games are held once a week on the weekend and take place on a small sided field in a 4v4 format (no keepers). This format allows for players to maximize the amount of opportunities to touch the soccer ball in a low pressure situation.

Shin pads are required to play in this program.  Spikes are recommended by not required.  Soccer balls are recommended but not required and can be provided by the club for use during practices if needed.

The current registration cost (24/25) for joining an FYSC academy team is $60 for each Fall and Spring season.

Travel

As our players reach the u9 age group, teams are formed at each age group and participate in the  

Reading-Berks Junior Soccer League.  FYSC teams will play against teams from other youth soccer clubs who participate in the RBJSL. Examples of other youth soccer clubs who play in the RBJSL include, but are not limited to: Conrad Weiser, Exeter, Governor Mifflin, Wyomissing, Oley, Tulpehocken, and Wilson.

Travel teams are formed collectively by the BoD and coaches involved with the team at a given age group. There are times when there is a need to move players to an older age to maintain a team at a particular age group. Players designated to play up to an older age group will be selected after consultation with the BoD, coaches, and parents/guardians. Players should expect to receive playing time in each game and coaches are encouraged to make every effort to balance playing time equally.

Shin pads, spikes, soccer balls and a club uniform (about $90 cost) are all required to play in this program.

The current registration cost (24/25) for joining a U9 thru U12 FYSC travel team is $95 for each Fall and Spring season.  Due to the large increase in referee costs at the U13 and above age group, the registration fee is $125.
